Samantha Stotz

Throughout my drafting career, I have worked closely with general/sub contractors, project managers, engineers, vendors, installers and other drafters in order to keep jobs running smoothly from start to finish.

My Story

I’ve always been surrounded by creativity and craftsmanship. My family owned their own glass business while I was growing up. My dad worked on curtain walls, storefronts, and brake shapes for several businesses and homes in the Hudson Valley. My mom created stained glass pieces for the home, custom pieces for pubs in New York City, and taught classes. Their mix of precision, creativity and craftsmanship contributed to my love of design and attention to detail.

After graduating Dutchess Community College with an associate degree in architecture, I fell in love with AutoCAD creating drawings and seeing the satisfaction that comes from watching a project come together on paper and, later, in real life!

Since 2013, I have been working as a drafter for glass and metal companies. I love the challenge of coordinating/designing different elements, understanding how things fit together, and making sure the information needed is clear and accurate. I coordinate with surrounding conditions, gather product information, review designs, and participate in meetings to help ensure every detail aligns with the overall scope of work.

With over a decade of experience, I take pride in producing detailed, well-coordinated drawings that support smooth fabrication and installation. I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from small storefronts to large-scale commercial buildings in New York City. No matter the size or complexity of a custom project, my approach is always the same: stay organized, communicate clearly and make sure every detail supports the bigger picture. Drafting may start with one person and a computer, but great projects only come together when everyone communicates and supports each other.

My goal with Stotz Drafting is to build long-term relationships with companies who value reliability, collaboration, and quality work. I want clients to know they can count on me not just for drafting, but for help with coordination, problem solving, and keeping their projects running efficiently.

At the end of the day, I truly love what I do.
